ABSTRAK

Kecemasan merupakan respon yang umum dialami pasien sebelum menjalani operasi apendiktomi sehingga dapat memengaruhi kesiapan pasien dalam menghadapi tindakan pembedahan. Komunikasi terapeutik perawat berperan penting dalam membantu mengurangi kecemasan melalui pemberian informasi, dukungan, dan pendekatan yang empatik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan komunikasi terapeutik perawat dengan tingkat kecemasan pasien pre operasi apendiktomi di RSD Mangusada. Penelitian menggunakan desain kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional pada pasien pre operasi apendiktomi yang dipilih menggunakan total sampling. Hasil analisis spearman rank menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara komunikasi terapeutik perawat dengan tingkat kecemasan pasien dengan p-value sebesar 0,006, di mana semakin baik komunikasi terapeutik yang diberikan, semakin rendah tingkat kecemasan pasien. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan komunikasi terapeutik yang efektif perlu terus dioptimalkan sebagai bagian dari asuhan keperawatan pre operasi untuk membantu menurunkan kecemasan dan meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan.

ABSTRACT

Anxiety is a common response experienced by patients before undergoing an appendectomy and may affect their readiness for surgery. Nurses' therapeutic communication plays an important role in reducing anxiety by providing information, emotional support, and an empathetic approach. This study aimed to determine the relationship between nurses' therapeutic communication and the anxiety levels of preoperative appendectomy patients at Mangusada Regional Hospital (RSD Mangusada). This study employed a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach involving preoperative appendectomy patients selected through total sampling. The results of the Spearman's rank correlation analysis showed a significant relationship between nurses' therapeutic communication and patients' anxiety levels, with a p-value of 0.006. The findings indicate that the better the therapeutic communication provided by nurses, the lower the patients' anxiety levels. These results suggest that effective therapeutic communication should continue to be optimized as an integral part of preoperative nursing care to help reduce patient anxiety and improve the quality of healthcare services.
